Mill Stone Circle
Grind stones from historic mill
Located at the intersection of Lake Drive and Mattox Ave in Placid Bay Estates, the circle is home to three of our community's 150+ year old grist mill grind stones from the historic Wirt's Mill. Located behind what is presently known as the Placid Bay Event Venue, Wirt's Mill was in operation from the 1600's to the 1900's. Fascinating information can be found on our Wirts Mill page.
Historic Flag Pole
The circle is also home to our community's 35-foot flag pole. The pole is original and was installed at the start of our community in 1962. Reinforced and improved in 2020, the pole flies a large 5-foot x 8-foot American Flag with solar lighting.
