Special Taxes for Placid Bay Estates Lot Owners
Westmoreland County created the Placid Bay Sanitary District to collect two special local taxes from lot owners in Placid Bay Estates.
Roads Tax
As of 2024, the yearly "Roads Tax" is $144 per lot.
The county uses "Road Tax" income to maintain, repair, and upgrade roads within Placid Bay Estates.
Dam Tax
The yearly "Dam Tax" is an additionnal Real Estate Tax of $0.06 tax per $100 of value and a Personal Property Tax of $0.001 tax per $100 of value.
The county used "Dam Tax" income to rebuild the Mattox Ave Dam on Placid Lake after a storm destroyed it in 2011
